Welcome to Jodrell Bank Angling Club.
Welcome to Jodrell Bank Angling Club. The club was formed in May 2016 with intention to cater for pleasure anglers only. We lease some of the finest waters available which offer excellent fishing in the North West of England, situated in East Cheshire within beautiful, tranquil surroundings.
There are currently twelve venues available to fish and the majority of our waters are neatly pegged. We offer great parking facilities and easy access, with only a short walking distance to the pools.
The waters are all maintained to the highest standard with regularly mowed lawns. Trees and shrubs are regularly trimmed and kept in order. The careful maintenance that is carried out means that we have a great relationship with landowners who we lease the waters from. The high regard that the club has for the waters/environment we rent, has led to other landowners approaching the club to lease pools that they would like us to take on. The club is very proud of the reputation it has achieved while still in its early development.
All waters either contain, or are being developed to contain, excellent mixed fish stocks, however, we will maintain some waters free from king carp at the request of landowners or in an effort to keep a pure breed crucian in line with Environment Agency guidelines.
All venues apart from the stretch of the River Goyt are within a ten mile radius of each other around the Jodrell Bank area.
The club is very proud of the fact that it offers something different from a lot of other fishing clubs as we cater for the pleasure angler only and therefore do not offer any match fishing.
The club has some large carp in most waters, but we do not offer night fishing or allow more than one rod to be used on any of the waters. This has proved very popular with the members, who have joined for the sole purpose of pleasure angling.
Fish species present:
- Carp 20lb+
- Tench 5lb+
- Chub
- Bream 5lb+
- Crucians 3lb+
- Excellent silver fish along with good perch.
- Decent hybrids
The season starts from the 1st of May each year and a membership limit and, once reached, a waiting list applies. The club is a non profit organisation, all sub fees pay the landowners to lease the waters with any additional funds going towards maintenance and future fish stocks, as and when needed, and subject to funds being available.
The club decided that it would not charge a joining fee and to try and keep the annual subs to the minimum, which would be enough to cover all of the outlay.
