Fishing for pleasure
Formed in May 2016, Jodrell Bank Angling Club was created with one clear purpose. To provide quality fishing for pleasure anglers only.
We lease some of the finest waters in the North West of England, set in the beautiful and tranquil surroundings of East Cheshire. Every venue is carefully chosen, thoughtfully maintained and managed with long term sustainability in mind.
If you enjoy relaxed, traditional angling without match pressure, you are in the right place.
Twelve Carefully Managed Venues
We currently offer twelve venues, the majority of which are neatly pegged with excellent access and parking close to the pools.
Our waters are maintained to a very high standard. Lawns are regularly mowed, trees and shrubs are trimmed, and each venue is kept tidy and respectful of its surroundings.
This level of care has earned us a strong relationship with our landowners. In fact, our reputation has led to other landowners approaching us to take on additional waters. For a club still in its early development, that is something we are extremely proud of.
All venues, apart from our stretch of the River Goyt, sit within a ten mile radius of Jodrell Bank.

Pleasure Angling Only
We are proud to offer something different from many other clubs.
We cater exclusively for pleasure anglers. There is no match fishing. We do not allow night fishing. Members may use one rod only on all waters.
This approach has proved extremely popular. Members join us because they value the relaxed atmosphere and the enjoyment of fishing for fishing’s sake.
Well Balanced Fish Stocks
All waters contain, or are being developed to contain, excellent mixed fish stocks.
Some waters hold large carp over 20lb. Others are carefully managed to protect pure crucian strains in line with Environment Agency guidance. In certain venues we maintain waters free from king carp, either at the request of landowners or to preserve specific species.
Fish species include:
Carp over 20lb • Tench over 5lb • Bream over 5lb • Crucians over 3lb
Chub • Perch • Quality Silver Fish • Strong Hybrids
Membership Information
Membership numbers are limited. Once capacity is reached, a waiting list applies.
Jodrell Bank Angling Club is a non profit organisation. Subscription fees go towards leasing the waters and maintaining the venues. Any additional funds are used for maintenance and fish stocking when required and when funds allow.
We do not charge a joining fee and we work hard to keep annual subscriptions as low as possible while covering our costs.
fRIENDLY, WELCOMING PEOPLE
We are proud of our reputation as one of the North West’s fastest growing angling clubs. Members value the relaxed atmosphere, the quality of the waters and the shared enjoyment of traditional pleasure angling.
Advice is always available, and newcomers are made to feel welcome from day one. Respect for fellow members, the waters and the environment sits at the heart of the club.
